Not all Spells need to be altered in every campaign. Please speak with your DM when you play a spellcaster on which spells you want to pick and how you want to use them. Spells are one of the worst-balanced rulesets in DnD and especially depending on a DM`s campaign setting they may want to weaken some of them to make the plot more engaging.
